Planting Seeds of Confidence.

Junior Jewels is ISJ's youth programming, creative workshops designed to help young girls discover confidence, self-expression, and the power of showing up for themselves.

My mother taught me that putting on your earrings before you leave the house isn't about vanity. It's about telling yourself you matter. That lesson shaped everything I am.

But she didn't just teach that lesson to me. My mother was a Girl Scout leader. She led our Junior troop, our Cadette troop, and our Senior troop. For years, she poured into young girls, teaching them about confidence, about their history, about showing up for themselves and each other. She had us selling cookies, making beaded jewelry with our hands, learning what it meant to be young women with purpose. Girl Scouts was where my hands-on creativity really started, where I first understood that making something beautiful with your hands could change how you felt about yourself.

That was her gift. She planted seeds in every girl she touched.

Junior Jewels is how I continue her work. She did it through Girl Scouts. I'm doing it through ISJ. Different vehicle, same mission: show a young girl that she matters, give her something to create with her own hands, and watch what happens to the way she carries herself.

Junior Jewels exists because every girl deserves to hear that message early. Before the world tells her to shrink, before she starts questioning her worth, before she forgets that she was born to take up space, we want her to know: you matter. And here's proof. You just made something beautiful with your own hands.

These workshops aren't just about making jewelry. They're about building the kind of confidence that doesn't wash off.
